Research vessels with professional high pressure cleaners with frequency technology from Meier-Brakenberg

The Ramform Titanium class is a class of research vessels for seismological exploration of oil and gas deposits in the sea. This type of ship is short but relatively wide and was first used on the Norwegian ship Marjata. The shipping company Petroleum Geo-Services operates three ships of this class.

The ships are 104.20 m long, 70 m wide and have a draught of 6.42 m. On the fore ship there is a helipad and on the aft ship there are various cranes on the upper deck for the deployment of streamers and work boats. Two separate engine rooms are fully redundant. Due to the extreme delta shape of the hull, the ships lie very calmly in the water. The crew consists of 80 persons, partly nautical and partly scientific.

Frequency-controlled high-pressure cleaners of the latest generation from Meier-Brakenberg are used for the various cleaning tasks. The cleaning technology is equipped with an 18.5 kW powerful motor which is adjusted to the on-board voltage. The motor-pump combination controlled by the frequency converter ensures a constant working pressure of 140 bar with different quantities of water removed. Stubborn dirt can thus be powerfully cleaned with a high washing effect and full working pressure. Sensitive fittings are gently rinsed off via the pressure regulating lance with a small amount of water and low pressure. At the same time up to 4 employees can use the high pressure cleaning system at the same time. The system provides 4,200 litres of water per hour. The built-in pressure monitoring system allows the speed to be increased and decreased depending on the load to automatically adjust the delivery rate to the quantity required. Stainless steel piping with stainless steel taps at all relevant points ensures efficient and safe working.
