Mobile scale for research purposes in the USA

The Agriculture department of Fort Hays State University in Kansas has been using a single-animal scale from Meier-Brakenberg in pig, sheep and goat farming since April 2018. For example, it is used in feeding trials by the agricultural authority. In more detail, the scale will benefit the Agriculture Department’s feed trials they have been doing on the pigs from weaning to market weight. This scale helps the students have more accurate and precise weight measuremen.

Further information

  • The mobile single animal scale enables the farmer to sort slaughter pigs before sale. The fattening pigs can thus be marketed with the optimum weight.
