European Pig Producers meet in Spain

At the annual EPP Congress of the European Pig Producers Association in Seville, pig farmers from Europe met from 17 to 19 May to learn about topics such as animal welfare, animal health, the use of digital data and African swine fever. Meier-Brakenberg is also a member and appreciates international information and exchange. The Spanish hosts informed us about Spanish pig farming, which mainly takes place in integrated production chains or cooperatives. Virtual farm presentations showed us modern pig farming with high standards of biosecurity in Spain. Spain's pig farmers produce far beyond self-sufficiency and export their products worldwide. An important export product is the meat of the Iberico breed, which is fattened with acorns.
